Our History

In 2010 electrical engineer Tom Hall and his business partner Alison McFadden spotted a gap in the market for a specialist company that provided backup power products and services.

Launching Continu, Tom and Alison set up an attic-based office with just one employee. From there, the Directors set about quickly scaling the business to build a team of specialists and a suite of innovative products with world leading partners that would give organisations peace of mind in the event of power problems – with guaranteed support at every stage.

Continu’s commitment to exceptional customer service and cultivating a positive culture for employees combined with technical expertise has been key to the business’ success.

The company drives a partnership approach with customers, investing heavily in employee development and building loyal business relationships has helped set Continu apart from the larger employers in this sector and resulted in ongoing business growth.

Continu now employs a team of twelve experts, with a sub-contracted backup team of 20+ engineers. Services include backup power and energy storage design, supply, installation, commission and service support.

Continu have acheived various awards along the way and operate within a robust HSQE system

In 2008, market changes led to the acquisition of the APC brand and Tom, together with business partner Alison McFadden, started the business Continu Ltd.

Tom is responsible for design, operational management, and technical training for Field Service Engineers and customers. Tom has the ability to communicate with customers in lay-man’s terms as well as providing impartial advice on UPS projects for a wide variety of applications.
