Backup Power for prestigious  Waterfront Hall

 The project

Waterfront Hall – New build construction site – Backup Power Design and Install – Client: Harvey Group.

The background

Continu were awarded the tender for the backup power installation as part of the Waterfront Hall Conference & Exhibition Facilities construction project which was completed in March 2016 and has doubled the facility in size adding an additional capacity of 4000m², including a 2000 seat Auditorium, 380 Seat Studio and 17 meeting rooms for 10 to 200 delegates. This enables the venue to attract larger events with a wider variety of requirements. Belfast City Council believe that the extension will contribute up to £40m towards the local economy each year and help the city tap into the growing business tourism market.

The solution

The main project was awarded to the partnership of McLaughlin & Harvey and Harvey Group. When it came to the critical component of backup power to protect the I.T infrastructure, Continu were the ‘go to’ company when it came to specifying the equipment for the prestigious Waterfront project. The Schneider Galaxy 60kVA UPS range was chosen for the new server room to provide critical back up power to the new and existing infrastructure housed within the Waterfront complex.

The results

Having worked collaboratively on several large projects over the years Continu have developed a long standing working relationship based on trust, reliability and supply of quality products and unrivalled service support, with the team at Harvey Group. This was a multi-team project and Continu were proud to be part of this prestigious construction project in Belfast.
